Rev. Dr. Carl E. Stuart
Rev. Dr. Carl E. Stuart was born in Georgetown, Guyana as the fifth of eight children. He is a compassionate servant leader who is intentional about prayer and winning souls for the kingdom. Rev. Dr. Stuart is obedient to the mandate that God’s house must be a house of prayer. The directive to go into all the world and preach the gospel is foremost, and he strongly believes that now is the time for true worshippers to worship God in spirit and in truth. Rev. Dr. Stuart has availed himself to be used by God for His honor and glory.
Rev. Dr. Stuart believes that love is the more excellent way. The love of God and love for neighbors are paramount guiding principles, as Jesus declared in Matthew 22:37-39, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Rev. Dr. Stuart began his work in ministry in Guyana in the AME’s 16th District at St. Peter’s AME. He was appointed as Pastor of Ebenezer AME in Charlestown, Guyana, where he led the mission to rebuild the church. Rev. Stuart transferred to the First District to be with his family and served as a member of the Ministerial Staff at St. Matthew AME in Orange, NJ prior to being assigned as the Pastor of St. John AME in Westwood, NJ in 2019. Rev. Stuart is honored to now be the Pastor of Israel Memorial AME.
Rev. Stuart works as a bivocational pastor and has worked in the aviation sector for most of his working life. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, from the University of Guyana. Rev. Stuart has held senior positions in the industry including Manager, South America, General Manager, St. Marteen and Jamaica, Sales Executive, New York/Northeast USA, and Interim General Manager, Guyana.
Rev. Stuart holds a Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, with honors, and has done post-graduate work in leadership and strategic planning. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Care, with honors.
Rev. Dr. Stuart blends the sacred traditions of the Church and a contemporary ministry. All are welcome to come as they are and worship God in the beauty of holiness.
Rev. Dr. Stuart is supported by his partner in life and ministry, Sis. Sandra Stuart. Rev. Dr. Carl Stuart and Sis. Sandra Stuart are the proud parents of two children, and two grandchildren.
